Perhaps Clearwater is most known for Clearwater Beach. Clearwater Beach is known for its clear blue waters and white sands. Visitors also enjoy catching the sunset off of Pier 60 just off of the beach. The beach is clean with beautiful weather year round. There are plenty of hotels and resorts all along the beach. It is definitely one of the best beaches in Florida!
Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Clearwater FL

Another great place to visit in Clearwater is the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. This local, non-profit is an environmental education facility and marine animal care. It opened in 1972 in a former water treatment plant. The aquarium is best known for being home to Winter, a bottlenose dolphin who starred in the 2011 film Dolphin Tale. Winter lost her tail in a crab trap and was rescued in December of 2005. The aquarium provided a prosthetic tail and gained worldwide attention for this feat. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is home to a number of marine animals including sea turtles, southern stingrays, nurse sharks, hogfish, red drum fish, great white pelicans, and more.
